I’ve learned a lot of things since marriage- most of which I won’t write about. But I have learned that if you decide to be a homemaker, most people will not share in your enthusiasm to follow the highest calling God has given you as a woman. And if you have a college degree, that makes it even worse. I have also learned that following God’s call on your life for the sake of the gospel, no matter what it is, causes conflict- especially with family. They don’t like it when you tell them you’re leaving the safe American “dream” to live in a country where they hate Christians, and where you will be in danger and possibly, heaven forbid, suffer with Christ for the sake of His gospel and the glory of His name.
“that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death; in order that I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.”
Phil. 3:10-11
I pray that God would make this a reality in my life- in order that I may be raised with Christ.
